Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell was a television personality, a ex-chef of the Institute of Culinary Education and formerly teaches cooking. She hosts the Food Network's Secrets of a Restaurant Chef, and is also the co-host of Worst Cooks in America. With her trademark spiky blond hair and bubbly personality Anne Burrell eliminates the intimidation of eating out and offers simple, easy-to-learn techniques for home cooks in her Food Network series Secrets of a Restaurant Chef. Chef Burrell also worked at some of New York's top eateries, learned about Italian cuisine and its traditions, and was a contestant on Food Network's Iron Chef America. While living in the the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. After obtaining an English and Communication degree at Canisius College in Buffalo NY she pursued her interest in the industry of restaurants by registering at The Culinary Institute of America. The Culinary Institute of America was the place where I experienced the most enjoyable time of my life. I couldn't seem to get enough out of it. When I graduated from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and Chef Burrell spent an entire year in Italy learning and working in La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria as well La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star restaurant in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate the Italian philosophy and culture, and has made an impression on her perception of food. Burrell served as a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board to brighten children's lives who are facing problems. Additionally, she is an Juvenile Research Foundation Celebrity Ambassador which promotes the awareness of children with diabetes. Burrell is often a guest to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States as part of her mentorship task. Anne, throughout her entire culinary journey has stated that it's a pleasure to be in a position to share this passion for life with others.
